SwingTracker Functions and Features
7) Time
When you first open SwingTracker, there is a daily chart of Microsoft (MSFT). Each bar in the chart, therefore, represents one day of trading activity.
The Time menu in SwingTracker gives you a great deal of flexibility to choose the period (the length of time measured by one bar) and the range (the number of periods displayed).
The periods available are daily, weekly, monthly, 1-minute, 5-minute, 15-minute, 30-minute and 60-minute.
"Date Range" allows you to get a set of data from the past (e.g. 1/2/1999 - 2/2/1999).
"Get Max Data" displays a longer period of data at a time ("Get Max Data" does not work in conjunction with "Date Range").
The table below describes the period and range options available.
How to use the table: If you select a daily chart you will see one year's worth of data. If you were to click "Get Max Data" you would see three year's worth of data. If you wanted to see data before three years ago, you would need to click "Date Range". Data back to 1990 is available.
