14) Scan Functions: Query Folder

The query folder allows you to build more customized scans with a group of over 200 built-in criteria. Click here for picture.

To build a scan using the query folder, follow these directions:

1. Click on ADD CRITERIA on the right-side of the san window. A new window will pop up, allowing you to build a query.

2. Use the folders and commands to create a query. Limit the query to less than 40 characters.

3. Click OK. This will close the query-building window and display the query on the first line of previous window (QUERY folder).

4. Click RUN SCAN to see how many results meet the criteria you entered.

5. a.) Click SHOW RESULTS to see the stocks that meet those criteria.

   OR

   b.) Click ADD CRITERIA to add more criteria to your query. Repeat steps 1-3. This will be displayed on the second line of the QUERY folder. (You do not need to put an AND at the beginning of this second line.) Click RUN SCAN to see how many results meet the criteria you entered broken down by each line of the query.

   Click SHOW RESULTS to see the stocks that meet all criteria or click ADD CRITERIA to add further criteria to your query.

To edit a scan, (for multiple-line queries only) click on the line of the query you would like to change. This should highlight the line in blue. Click on EDIT CRITERIA. The query-building window will pop up and allow you to edit the scan.

To delete a query line, (for multiple-line queries only) click on the line of the query you would like to delete. This should highlight the line in blue. Click on DELETE CRITERIA. This line of the query should be erased.

To reset the query, click on RESET at the bottom of the QUERY folder. This will erase everything displayed in the QUERY folder.
